Today I can participate in a bowl full of lemons challenge, cleaning ALL the windows in my house. It is part of my to do list for operation Easter. It's nice when the list starts to get smaller rather than bigger. Speaking of BIG, this was a BIG task. When I opened the dusty blinds I saw this...
First my husband had to bang and prod them open. I don't think they have been opened in the past 50 years. I put on my rubber gloves and vacuumed and washed the inside with soap and water. I think I ate a spider in the process.
Seriously. (Only for certain reasons do I wish I was a House Wife of Orange County, or Miami, or New York, or Beverley Hills- they would never be doing house work)
I closed the windows and used today's newspaper and Windex to clean and dry the windows. "Newspaper never leaves streaks," I must have heard my grandfather say this a million times, as I watched him clean windows. He had a thing about clean windows, and vacuuming, and neatly made beds... (maybe he had a problem...)
The windows are as squeaky clean as I could get them.
They really do sparkle, but it's hard to tell because the sunlight is pouring in. Such a shame :) Let me just cross off #14...
1.Clean the other half of the basement steps- yes I only cleaned half and left the rest dirty. It is true. EVERY time I walk down them I think about how I should finish cleaning them...
2. Bring my couch and rug from the condo over to the house so the living room is no longer EMPTY. I think people that come over are tired of sitting on the floor.
3. Make your magnet chalk board. You own the magnet paint, and chalk paint, and frames and chalk for heavens sake- make it already. Aren't you tired of hearing your husband ask "what's for dinner?" You could write it on the chalk board and point to it the next time he asks.
4. make shelves for my son's room.
5. Unpack all my sons books and toys that go on those shelves that I am suppose to make
6. Bring the dining room table over from my in laws house.
7. I guess I have to recover the chairs to that dining room table set. Otherwise some one's butt might fall through a chair.
8. Finish staining the wood trim in the kitchen. I am kind of getting tired of looking at the blue tape.
9. Hang something on at least one wall in the house
10. Try and finish this list before Easter (yeah right)
11. Bring the china over from my moms, unpack it and wash it.
12. Make place cards
13. Plan Easter dinner
14.Wash every window in my house
15. Set the table for Easter
16. Reupholster a chair (really?)
17. Find and hang valance for bathroom
18. find window covering for kitchen
In EVERY window. There are a whopping 31 windows in my house. Damn, I have to do this 31 times.

31 windows is a lot, but I am just imagining the sunshine. Beautiful! I'd better start tackling my windows. It's above freezing today so better do it while I can.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I love your list. Well.. I threw out my back 3 days ago, so I don't think it would be wise for me to join the challenge just yet.. but maybe in another week.
