Fridays Feature- Chicago the other part

When one thinks of Chicago you think of skyscrapers, the bean, the Water tower, etc... These are the landmarks downtown. If you head 20 minutes north of downtown and get off at Tower Road you can enter the most beautiful, tranquil landscape the city has to offer, the Botanical Gardens. It is rolling hills of green foliage, flowers, and walkways.

There are lots of hidden passageways to explore.

Luscious flowers with sweet smells that defy words.

Cooling stations.

Resting places.

Even square trees.

Do you think swan when you think of Chicago?

Or how about a Herring?

Chicago- just a tiny part of what Illinois is really like.

  1. I didn't realize you're a fellow-Chicago-suburbanite! This post is so funny because we live just about 20 min. from the Botanical Gardens (for the past 16 years) and have NEVER gone. We pass it everytime we take our girls to their college and we day, "WHEN are we going to go there???!!!" I am going to have to make it a point to go this fall -- and your little guys are just the most adorable pair!!

  2. I came over from Centsational Girl. We have been to Chicago 5 times to visit and have been to the Botanic Garden twice. We love it. It is truly a treasure as you say. Neat post. Kelly
