Hats Off to Kate!

hats2 819x1024 Hats On To William & Kate!

I was so excited to watch the Royal Wedding. I recorded it and it was the first thing I watched friday morning.

First of all Kate was absolutely STUNNING! I probably said she's so beautiful to many times while I watched all 4 hours of it.

Second, I don't know about you but I just love hats and I think after Kate and Will's wedding we are going to see a revival of them! I can't wait! I found a few picks that I though I would share with you.

And finally, I am sad that my invitation got lost in the mail, but I guess I will forgive those two crazy kids just this once.

Workshop Wednesday #4

Photobucket

I can't believe a whole month has gone by since I started my Workshop Wednesday Party! I really appreciate everyone who has linked to the party- I like the direction it is heading in (I know you are not suppose to end a sentence with a prepositional phrase- but the rules that have been in my head since grade school need to be broken).

ANY-WHO

A friend of mine told me she would like to see the details of our kitchen rehab, soooo I am starting with the sink.

THE BEFORE

A 1950's double bowl sink with a faucet I had never seen before. It totally reminds me of an old man.

THE AFTER

My HUGE farm sink made by Elkay- I love to pile the dishes in it!

Not really.
But as we all know, the genie in the bottle is going to grant me one wish and the dish fairy is going to come to my house every night and do the dishes-

Back to the party. There were so many great projects this week I had trouble picking favorites. Thanks to everyone who linked to the party!

My niece was coming to visit and I knew after I saw this project that these would be a lot of fun. We made snake bubble makers- my niece hyperventilated after making them for an hour! You can check out how to make them @ Come Together Kids

Could it be any easier? The Boutique Girls will show you how to make a super cute-super easy cupcake/dessert stand!

These unique earring by Anniebelle @ Tinkeranneibelle came to her in a daydream- I wish I had time to day-dream these doodles!

Soccer moms' BEWARE- the Dukes and Duchesses have created the perfect soccer cupcake! Head on over to their blog they have lots more soccer sweets ideas.

Monday's Menu

Considering we had Easter this past Sunday I feel like I have had nothing but junk!

Easter was wonderful because I ate all that junk... except for our poor sparrow visitor. He flew in the kitchen via the open screen door- stayed to enjoy the green beans and then we shoed him out an open window.

Needless to say, I am trying to eat on the lighter side.

Mother Earth

I do my part- I recycle, I use cloth diapers, I walk before I drive and my favorite be nice to Earth thing to do is to create with recycled materials! Oh and I am either looking for or will make a compost for my garden, any suggestion?

What do you do for Mother Earth?

This is the view from my bedroom window. Yikes! All this from one little room (the kitchen remodel)?. Well... not exactly.  Half the people on the block asked if they could throw this or that out.  The next thing we know it's full. I'm so glad my husband said no one could put anything in it until sunday night.  That's when he was finished throwing out our stuff and the neighbors lined up to throw out theirs, literally.

This morning I dove in...what is wrong with me?

Speaking of diving right on in, these are my favorite from last weeks link up!

HELLO DOLLIE! Have you seen Mindy's dollies from In the Loop? I don't know where she finds the time to create all her projects. She must be knitting in her sleep!

What I Ate MONDAY

Since I am NOT a morning person but my son seems to be, I need to keep breakfast simple.

Kefir mixed with vanilla yogurt, granola on top and a banana on the side. Easy, quick, painless and nothing I  have to think about. Remember I am NOT a morning person.

Easter Suncatchers

I have decided to challenege myself. The challenge is:
to see how many projects I can make using cereal boxes or thin cardboard boxes

I guess you can say this is a cereal challenge.  It's Easter and I decied to make Easter egg suncatchers. I love things that hang in the window to emphasis the sun shining through.

Workshop Wednesday #2

Photobucket

Here are my favorites from last weeks party.

Mel from the Crafty Scientist  brought a little Spring to her home with the Lemonhead wreath. Maybe she should include a warning sign with her wreath: Beware people might lick the front door! I know I would definitely steal a lemon or two.

Miz Helen Country Cottage posted Savory and Sweet Buck wheat crepes. It's perfect for the person with a sweet tooth or a person with a salty tooth even better if you have both! This often seems to be the case for me.

Spring surely has Sprung! Look what popped up over night on the side of my house...

Gorgeous, right? I am sharing what I discovered growing in my yard since we moved in in the winter. Speaking of sharing link up your projects, good eats, and what you discovered lately...

Pillowcase Valance

Part of my Spring operation and Easter preparation is to find a valance for my bathroom window (and clean up the window sill). I was knocking things off my list left and right but this window valance thing has stumped me.

I Think I ate a Spider

Today I can participate in a bowl full of lemons challenge, cleaning ALL the windows in my house. It is part of my to do list for operation Easter. It's nice when the list starts to get smaller rather than bigger. Speaking of BIG, this was a BIG task. When I opened the dusty blinds I saw this...

12 Breakfast Places in 12 Months

This months Breakfast STOP is ORANGE
Orange supports locally grown organic products. They strive to spend most of their food dollar close to home. Their menu changes because they cook what is in season. At home I can make organic meals but going to a restaurant to eat organic is not as easy. Just one more reason why I like ORANGE!

A Haircut can Change Your Life

specially if it's free!  This is part of my saving money series.

For those of you that know me, you know that I have spent zero dollars on haircuts in that last five years. How is this possible?  I get my haircut every 6 months or less, and it's not like I am cutting it myself...

Workshop Wednesday #1

 Photobucket

I have a MILLION projects around the house that I need to get done.  The first big project was our kitchen.  It is 99.9 percent finished- I just need to grout the subway tile... All that little stuff always seem to go unfinished for awhile, why? I need to do something about it.

It's also a shame that I have this brand new kitchen and do I cook in it? Nope

Do I eat in it? You BETCHA
and I absolutely hate doing all the dirty dishes but I still diligently do them everyday :(

My grandmother is complete mortified that I don't cook in my kitchen. I feel like I have never really had the time to cook or create until NOW! A stay at home has to have some perks.

But I REALLY, REALLY need help!

These are the only two cookbooks I have ever really tried to make dinners from. Unfortunately, the cooking for two isn't helping anymore because we are a family of three.

I own the Betty Crocker cookbook but I haven't open it up since I have memorized how to make Banana Bread.
This is kind of the story of my life so MANY ideas so little time... until now with my new stay-at-home-mommy attitude.

My attitudes tells me to start a link party to hold me accountable to finishes those DIY projects around the house, try new recipes, and to create at least a few of those ideas in my head.

  Everyone knows the rules:
Please follow me or RSS feed me- doing this guarantees that you'll never burn a meal ever again and you will complete an amazing project!

Spring Operation and Easter Preparation

Here's the deal...We are having our first family party at our new home and I really, REALLY need to get it together and finish some things around the house so I am ready for Easter.

I had aired some of my dirty laundry before and now I need to add to this list...
