John Wayne LUV

Goes to:

John Wayne. I wish he would save me from the bad guy, lasso me, throw me on the back of his horse, and we would ride off into the sunset together. OMG I have been watching way to many westerns lately.

After watching the remake of True Grit I wanted to watch the original starring John Wayne and his Oscar winning performance. And then I was hooked- on westerns that is. John, Marion, Duke whatever you would like to call him has starred in more than 150 movies. What's a girl to do? Rent them all?
Maybe I will just google his most popular films and start from there.

This John Wayne kick- I should be sleeping- instead I am up watching Rio Bravo!
(it's good by the way)

Still Obessed- Workshop Wednesday #13

Photobucket

I am still obsessed with REALITY television. Beside All the Real Housewives, I watch Top Chef, So you think You Can Dance, and the Voice. Seriously those singers on the Voice are amazing- I have no idea why I never watched American Idol- I have been missing out!

Any-who I was sorry to see the guy tap dancer go on So You Think You Can Dance, I might have a thing for tall skinning guys that act a little goofy, what honey?

Maybe I love watching these shows because these people have talent. Heck I love rolling down the car windows and belting out a good tune. And don't be surprised to see me dancing around the house with me son. In my mind I possess just as much talent as the people on the reality shows! Even if certain family members don't think so...

Therefore, I would like to sing a little praise of thanks and do a little dance of appreciation to everyone who joined the party last week! Here are a few Highlights from last weeks...

This adorable, cute dress for Gracie.  See the details at Red Buddy Notes!

The Beetle Shack made a Hottie for her Hottie. Don't know what a hottie is? Find out here.

"Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!"

WOW it got a little scary around here on Tuesday night. My husband was taking the garbage cans to the end of the driveway (garbage pick up was the next day) and he said the sky was a greenish-yellow and that it was extremely windy.  He was talking about how strong the wind was because all the neighbors garbage cans were knocked down.
Two seconds after he said that the TV screen flipped to a tornado warning and the power went out. The tornado siren started blaring so I grabbed my son out of bed and my husband got the dog and we all headed for the basement. Then we heard a huge thunk and a loud scraping noise.

Workshop Wednesday #12- I have a Confession...

Photobucket

I love reality television. It started years ago when Bravo aired the Real Housewives of Orange County and I was instantly HOOKED. My obsession has spiraled out of CONTROL.

I have watched all the Real Housewives, Atlanta- love you Nene, New York City- Kelly you annoy me, New Jersey- oh mama Manzo, Orange County- live it up Tamra,  Beverly Hills- Lisa darling, and Miami. Miami was my least favorite show but I stilled watched - well I guess i did do a lot of fast forwarding. DVRS ROCK!

That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to my Bravo Reality Obsession, I'll get to with the rest of my reality show watching in another post. For now I would like to focus on a few favorites from last weeks party! Thanks to all that shared and linked their posts!

Have paint, will chalk. That's my motto when it comes to chalkboard paint! Fabulous idea Ella Boo & Co

Workshop Wednesday #11

Photobucket

This weeks Workshop Wednesday is dedicated to all the hardworking, supportive, caring fathers in the world that would go to the ends of the earth for their family.

Recently my dad called me to let me know that the Condors are no longer on the endangered species list. I wrote a paper about it, in second grade when I was seven. I am now thirty-four. He remembers a paper I wrote twenty seven years ago but he can't remember the conversation we had yesterday.
Gotta love DADS!

Here are my Workshop Wednesday party favorites:

Since Father's Day is just around the corner Gail from Can't Stop Making Things came up with this great gift idea!

Lydia from Pudel-Designs created this rug. What a unique way to add character to a room.

What a cute little table- right? Check out the details over at Home is Where the Shoes Are!

Workshop Wednesday #10 and Momcave Update!

You can view my Momcave post here. This room has been in the makings {in my head} for months. Here is the before:

I found what I was looking for under that linoleum:

I choose to just put a clear coat on the pine floor in this room. The sun shines in on the wide planks and shows the variety of color in the grain of the wood. With the floor out of the way I can start shopping for furniture. I have a sun room to put together!

A warm sunny thanks to everyone who linked to Workshop Wednesday last week. Here are a few of my favorites:

I think I am having a love affair with pizza- Michelle has the recipe over here!

Blood Suckers...

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mosquito Magnet for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Picture this- my husband barbecuing my favorite turkey burger recipe in his sexy BBQ apron. Along with turkey burgers we are having home made fries, salad, and freshly squeezed lemonade on our glorious picnic table. Yes we are singing Sunshine Day and bobbing our heads like the Brady Bunch gang would. Really we are trying to have a nice dinner outside when some uninvited guests arrive. They are annoying, buzzing in our ears and enjoy our blood for dinner.

Now I know that everyone has to eat dinner and  I loved the Twilight series, the movies were entertaining but I'm not talking about those types of BLOOD SUCKERS, I am talking about the pesky mosquito kind. The kind I feel we can do without.

This summer I am taking action. I went all out and I found this at HomeDepot. It's the Mosquito Magnet. It is going to take care of all my mosquito troubles, up to an acre- I wish I had an acre!

I want to be able to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner on our picnic table- mosquito free. I don't want have to worry about my son running around in the yard and getting eaten alive.

I bought my Mosquito Magnet at Home Depot but you can get them online too- some of them even ship for free!

Currently they are running an 18 month warranty, see the details online here.

This year I am truly living in the era of the insect. See my other insect problem here

I would love to here from you, What is your favorite summer activity? Are those pesky mosquitoes getting in your  way of enjoying your summer fun?

This year I am seeing a mosquito free summer!

Workshop Wednesday #9- I had to CALL the Police!

Photobucket

The other day we had an intruder...

Well two to be exact. Once they got into our house they thought it might be cool to invite their friends and family in too. They have been stopping by ever since. I don't think the police understand how much of a nuance they are.

So, of course when Jacklyn posted her link to her homemade bug remover, I mixed up her concoction. I have been spraying ever since, die ants, die!

p.s. do not say these words in front of a 19 months old. I keep seeing him pick up the spray bottle and telling every piece of fuzz or crumb on the floor to die.

On to the antless party and my favorite link ups.

019

Lemons- a pop of color and great artwork! Check out how Bee Focused eye balled this gallery wall! I wonder if she would like me to send her one of my ants to frame?

How about this FABULOUS sandwich. I added a little turkey to mine just for the protein although I could have added all the ants I'm collecting for protein and a nice crunch but alas I didn't.  The recipe is @ Delightfully Dowling. YUMMY! Her version is ant free.

I am in love with this 5 drawer dresser and she has a great story. Sorry the story doesn't include ants, but I know that they would love to crawl all over it!  Read about it @ Boxers, Cleats and Me!
